Re: 2012 gtx

And believe it or not, they're still gonna be bigger than our cars. I just sold my Challenger, and it was larger than the b-Body parked beside it, both in height, length and width.

Re: 71GTX Rocker/railings

I got a set about 4 years ago, gave $800 for them. WHen I was looking, I noticed the moldings for a Cuda Gran Coupe and was checking them out, but they are too short. I never got around to it, but I was thinking of using 2 Cuda pieces per sides, welding them together and finishing them off. MIGHT be...

Re: 1972 grill repairs...HELP...

Guys, I know it sounds scary, but think about it. At what temp does plastic melt? That's not even hot enough to melt the paint on the grille, let alone the plastic. On a hot day, take the temp of your grille when it's been sitting in direct sunlight for a few hours. And like someone said, try it on ...

If you start looking and can't find the dash emblem, give me a yell, I think I still have the molds and can make you one.

Re: 1972 grill repairs...HELP...

I've had good luck with placing plastic parts in the oven in the kitchen, at about 175 degrees for about 15 minutes, then taking them out, laying them on a flat surface and using like paint stir sticks and weights, shaping and holding them where they need to be with weights, and letting them cool. O...

Re: Crankshaft tightness

Make sure the oil passages on the crank were chamfered. I had a crank turned locally and they didn't chamfer the holes. When I picked the crank up, I asked them about it, they said it wasn't needed, and they guaranteed it to be ok. I was MUCH younger. Installed the crank and noticed it was pretty to...

Re: Great Ebay ad that says nothing about the car!?!?

If you're getting serious about the car, let me know, and maybe I could take a drive up this weekend and see what it is. It's about an hour from me, but that's a lot better than 8-9 for you to waste if it's not what it's supposed to be. Might PM me your phone number if you want me to look at it, and...

Re: Elastomeric Bumpers

If you want to take it one step farther, PlastiDip is making spray on rubber coating now. If you want to try, and have patience, you might be able to get a smooth coat on the bumpers to give them even more of the rubber look and a little resilience when someone shoves on them with a finger nail.

Re: GTX OR ROADRUNNER?

I first remember the GTX from a Mean Mary Jean commercial.. She'd come in front of the camera and say "come drive Plymouth's new GITTIX", and the announcer would say that's GEE TEE EX Mary, to which she would always respond, "Right, that's what I said, Gittix." By the time the commercial was over, e...

Re: GTX OR ROADRUNNER?

Elvad,I may be wrong, but if I remember correctly, somewhere here I read that the Sebring Plus is actually a rarer car than the GTX. If you consider there were just over 2900 71 X's made, how many Sebring Pluses were made? You may have a rarer car than you think, especially considering how many have...

Re: GTX OR ROADRUNNER?

Like you said, basically the same car, but from the factory, the GTX was better equipped both power wise and suspension wise. It cost more, but you already have better rear springs, nothing less than a 440, and a little more glitz than was on the RR. One other cool factor was that a lot of the brand...

Re: MY NEW 72RR BEAST!

I just installed the '71 marker lights on my '72 last year, and you're right. It's some work. Invest in a cheap flanging tool to make the flanges, and have at least one extra bezel to fit into place while you're applying the finish body filler. I got my flanging tool at Harbor Freight for like $20, ...
