Re: Full Vinyl or not??

Since it is so unusual I would put it on. I agree the full vinyl roofs do not suit the lines of the 71 Road Runner. The vinyl roof abruptly cuts off the nice, one-piece flow of the C-pillar. The vinyl roof looks good on the Challenger because the roof cuts off at the bottom of the C-pillar with the ...

Re: halloween interior

1971 was the only year for orange interiors. I don't believe Dodge had orange vinyl interiors, only the orange houndstooth.

Plymouth Satellite models were the only ones where you could get the orange/black combo. I think Cudas and Dusters had all-orange vinyl seats, no two-tone.

I would keep both grills if possible. I know you don't care to hear about the value but if you change your mind down the road, you'll have a tough time finding another good '72 grill and you'll pay through the nose to get it. The 72 grill was unique as it was only on the Road Runner whereas the '71 ...

I'm not sure if this was true or an urban legend but I heard there was a game in which some gang members would initiate their new members by having them drive around at night with their headlights off. When an oncoming car flashed their highbeams to alert them that their lights were off, the gang re...

It was bound to happen with prices for muscle cars shooting up so quickly between 2003 and 2007. Real estate prices & low interest rates gave people lots of borrowing power for buying a third "toy" car. Barrett Jackson-style hype "BUY IT NOW-they're not building any more!" didn't help either. I imag...

I'm not sure why customizing is looked down upon with Mopar. It probably has to do with the relatively small production numbers of Mopars compared with Chevys and Fords. When there is a seemingly never-ending supply of certain model, who cares if someone wants to paint it Honda Teal with a blue flam...

Thanks Ctownrunner for forwarding me to the C-Body Dry Dock.

The concensus I think is that a radio was always an option and not standard equipment. Therefore it is not considered as a deleted item.

Radio delete?

Unrelated to 71 Satellite models, but I have a 1970 Plymouth Fury that appears to be radio delete. There is no specific code for this car being radio delete on either the window sticker or the fender tag.

Is the radio delete option only mentioned on the build sheet?

I e-mailed this guy about his car. He lives about six hours from where I live.

Apparently there is no title, no keys, didn't know if there was a fender tag or not.

Interesting car to be sure being orange with orange/black interior.

I found the best course for restoration is to sell the car and buy one that someone else has already sunk a lot of money into. Unless you are a qualified bodyman, the labour and the cost of new parts or restoring old parts is going to cost more than the car is worth. Even if you got the car for free...

I think it's actually a two-tone argent/flat black combo. Argent runs across the bottom lip of the grill and inside the headlight bezels. Flat black is for the rest of the grill for the Road Runner and GTX.

I think Satellite grills were painted all argent.
