Re: distributor
Don't be surprised if that nylon bushing at the base of the distributor cracks, very common.I would replace it with a new one.

Re: Motor Oil for old Muscle
OK what do you do for oil for your old engines. HP 71 440 GTX. Last rebuild 1985. Compression stock 9.7 and no hard seats. For fuel There is a little store near here that sells 89 octane with NO ETHANOL. Will use a lead substitute and octane boost if needed. ...............Thanks Again: Your Friend...

Re: Fusebox/Dash/Firewall Wiring Problems
Well on my 71 (which i would think is the same as yours)the number 3 fuse powers the dome and brake lights. Here is a wiring diagram (remember you are looking at the back of the fuse box notice the acc. and bat. tap locations)the heater would be fuse 7 on the acc. side: http://img.photobucket.com/alb...

Re: Fusebox/Dash/Firewall Wiring Problems
Well the one fuse that was blown goes to the heater blower switch then the blower motor resistor and then the blower motor,so one of those is bad (my guess is the motor)I would also unplug the taps you have to the acc. and bat. feeds on the fuse box till you figure this out.(Why is one green?)

One thing leads to another and another.Learn as you go.Nothing wrong will that oil or oil pressure, but oil pumps are cheap so replace it and rule that out....

Re: brakes
Actually you can use the Diplomat spindles, but you have to use the diplomat rotors, calipers, and brackets.I have done this swap two times now using dodge magnum spindles which are the same.

Re: Solenoid or ballast resistor?
For future reference, if a ballast resistor fails the car will still crank and start but will die as soon as the key is released from the starting position.

Re: oil pump replacment big block
If it is a big block (dist. in front of motor) you do not have to pull the pan to change the oil pump.the pump is bolted to the outside of the block, drivers side below water pump.If you insist on removing the oil pan it can be done by raising the motor a little and removing the tie rod center link. ...

The roadrunner was not actually a race car.If you look carefully at the photos there is no roll cage.It was used as a clinic and a show car.Although a magazine article from 71 says it had a jake king hemi with dual holley dominators(probably the reason for the addition of the scoop) and ran 10.50 at...

Not getting spark at the plugs....are you getting spark out of the coil? is the distibutor turning? check the magnetic pickup in the distibutor, also the gap.Are you getting power off the ignition switch?
