Re: Wheel lip moldings

Original ones are anodized aluminum. just like the repops. Previous generation were stainless steel. Layson's had a pretty bad rep there for a while, and sometimes struggled in the customer service department. Whether it was deserved or not, I don't know. I don't remember exactly what I paid at the ...

Re: Wheel lip moldings

Oh... I bought mine from Layson's last year at the Indy Swap Meet because Metro was out of stock at that time. Makes me wonder if they have been out of stock ever since.

Re: Wheel lip moldings

Here they are, but Metro shows them out of stock: http://www.buymetroparts.com/item/b-body-satellite/1971-72-plymouth-b-body-wheel-/lid=10723049 Layson's are made in China, but I got a set of them last year and I found them to be more than acceptable, if not show quality.: http://www.laysons.com/Cat...

Re: 1971 Hemi RR goes for 100K+ on Barrett Jackson

Several things held that car back. The B-J bidding definitely responds better to bright colors, consoles and bucket seats. I think the lack of those features out weighed the survivor factor. Regardless, to suggest a single B-J auction result is a good appraisal of a car's value is foolish. It's just...

I use Cass for all my differential stuff. Great guy with competitive prices and customer service second to none.

Re: Plug wires?!

I'm definitely not knocking the Firecore wires.

Another thing to consider about 8mm+ aftermarket wires is that they won't fit the factory wire looms. You're going to be crushing the insulation to get the them in there which defeats much of their supposed benefits.

Those are great...accept they don't have small block sets.

Re: Plug wires?!

10 mm wires are overkill.

Factory used 7 mm wires. I run 7 mm cut to fit wires from Summit racing. Available in orange to emulate the original wires.

Nope. "I" gets skipped over in the world of date codes due to being easily mistaken for a "1"

Re: Air Grabber hood weight?

Heavy and very uncomfortable to install. Standard performance hood isn't much lighter.

Re: Tuff wheels.

Grant Wheels are significantly different than factory tuff wheels. Only look similar at a glance.

Although far from perfect, Dale's Cuda Shop has a much better, yet economical reproduction.

These days the correct factory adapter will set you back $100 in used condition.

Re: Steering wheel adapter

Thanks men, sounds like I'm on the right track, if they were put on that many years, should be a ton out there, going to Carlisle, probably find a table stacked with them.... :) Be prepared for sticker shock on tuff wheel adapters. Prices have shot way up on them. Probably looking at $100 for a dec...

Someone told me to wipe a hefty wad of grease onto the pushrod so it will stay in place while getting the pump and gasket in place. Sound about right?
Yep.

Piece of cake with the alternator removed.
